The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art at Auburn University has received three 2026 Southeastern Museums Conference (SEMC) awards: a Bronze Award in Publications for its 2026 Auburn Forum print campaign, a Gold Award for its 2025–2026 calendar mailers, and a Gold Award in Technology for media production of its ‘Radical Naturalism: Lyric Birdscapes’ podcast and video work.
The Jule received awards for technology work and publication design.
Visitors could listen to student poets read their work in the gallery through sonic installations.
The Jule Museum Podcast is a monthly series featuring visual-arts research at Auburn University; each episode explores the stories behind art objects, including their historical context, cultural impact and the creative minds behind them.
The SEMC Technology Competition recognizes excellence in museums’ use of technology within the Southeast and celebrates innovative work; its 2026 competition received a record number of applications from a wide variety of museums across the region.
