‘Kika’ is scheduled for September 20, 2026, at the Portland Art Museum’s Whitsell Auditorium in Portland, Oregon. The screening is presented by Director Fits as part of a series on Fashion and Film.

Directed by Pedro Almodóvar, the 1993 black comedy follows a young makeup artist sent to prepare a corpse when her attentions bring him back to life.

The film features a Jean Paul Gaultier wardrobe and, according to the museum, helped cement the “Almodóvar look.” Gaultier was responsible for the costumes of Abril’s character, Andrea Caracortada, a sadistic television presenter with a love for gore.

Director Fits describes itself as a media platform focused on filmmakers’ sartorial decisions, including how clothing affects directors and their films.
