Aura Galerías presents ‘Honey Benji’ (2026), described as Alejandro Brito’s newest work.
The acrylic-on-canvas painting, dated 2026, depicts honey running over Benjamin Franklin’s face on a banknote. Every line of the engraving, security microtext and lathework is painted by hand, combining airbrush gradients with painstaking freehand drawing.
Brito is a Caracas-born hyperrealist painter who studied at the Museo Tesari-Rizzo and the School of Realism in South Carolina.
Based in Lomas de Chapultepec, Mexico City, Aura Galerías says it has more than 45 years of activity representing Mexican and international contemporary artists.
