Entries are now open for the Ramsay Art Prize 2027, which offers a $100,000 prize with the winning work acquired into the Art Gallery of South Australia’s collection.
The prize supports contemporary Australian artists under 40 to make their best work, unrestrained in scale and medium. Finalists will be selected by artist Brook Andrew, museum director, curator, writer and academic Rebecca Coates, and Jason Smith, Director of the Art Gallery of South Australia.
All finalist works will be shown at the Art Gallery of South Australia from 7 May to 15 August 2027. The exhibition will also include a non-acquisitive $15,000 People’s Choice Prize awarded to the artist chosen by public vote.
Entries close at 5pm Adelaide local time on Friday 11 December 2026. The Ramsay Art Prize is presented by the Art Gallery of South Australia and supported in perpetuity by the James & Diana Ramsay Foundation.
