Curated by Anastasiia Biletska and Andrii Kapalb, ‘Presence’ will feature sculptures, functional objects, video works, perfume art and music by fifteen artists.
The exhibition presents design as a broad cultural discipline connecting functional art, material research and contemporary practice. Its focus includes sustainability, ecological sensitivity and humanity’s relationship with the natural environment.
The installation brings together sculptures, functional objects, video works, perfume art and music to create a space for perception, reflection and dialogue. It is framed as an installation about time, relationships and responsibility, with nature positioned as observer, witness and ultimately judge.
‘Presence’ is a project of Kyiv Design Week, which has taken place for the fourth time as part of the Zurich Design Weeks since its founding in 2023. Kyiv Design Week was founded to increase the visibility of Ukrainian designers and creative practitioners in Zurich and Ukraine and involve them in discussions about social change.
The participating artists are Alyona Shybunova, Dasha Tsapenko, Kateryna Kuznetsova and Valeriy Kuznetsov, Ksenia Ryntovt and Yurii Ryntovt, Lidia Kolchenko, Olga Vynogradova, Olha Denysova, Oleksandr Chikurov, Polina Moroz, TANSKI (Tetyana Kulminska), Tetiana Shaleva, Yelyzaveta Rudenok and Yosyp Virts.
