'SOLEN ER SÅ RØD MOR'

The autumn group exhibition 'SOLEN ER SÅ RØD MOR' opens at Gammelgaard on Saturday 12 September.

Anna Fro Vodder, Eske Kath, Kathrine Ærtebjerg and Lise Blomberg came together through their inspiration from Harald Bergstedt’s well-known lullaby, set to music by Carl Nielsen, and created works that address the significance of the ongoing nature crisis in different ways.

For many, the ongoing nature crisis has caused unease as well as a search for closeness and immersion, while for others it forms part of a larger narrative about nature.

The exhibition originated with Anna Fro Vodder and Lise Blomberg and was curated in collaboration with Gammelgaard.

It asks how people relate to the sun as a symbol and image at a time when global warming and consequences such as the sixth mass extinction of species are realities. It also asks what relationship people can have with the sun now that it has become a threat to human existence.
