David Shrigley’s exhibition will run from 20 September to 25 October 2026 at Zeedijk 758 in Knokke.
The exhibition comprises thirteen works. Its opening reception is scheduled for 20 September from 2 to 5 pm.
Drawing has been at the heart of Shrigley’s practice since the beginning of his career, and his works combine simple imagery with minimal text to explore the absurdities, anxieties and contradictions of everyday life.
In his work, text may explain an image, contradict it or make the situation considerably stranger.
One named work is David Shrigley’s ‘Untitled (Now Volcano)’, made in 2019 in acrylic and oil bar on paper.
Shrigley, born in 1968 in Macclesfield, UK, lives and works in Brighton.
A major retrospective, ‘Brain Activity’, was held at London’s Hayward Gallery in 2012 and led to his nomination for the 2013 Turner Prize.
