Argentine artist Gabriel Salomón has died aged 83, according to a condolence notice issued by Buenos Aires’s Museo Moderno. The museum said that Salomón died “ayer”—the previous day—in the City of Buenos Aires.
Published on September 8, the statement identifies the artist as Gabriel Salomón (1943–2026). It opens with the words “Con profunda tristeza,” or “With deep sadness,” before lamenting the death of the “querido artista,” describing Salomón as a beloved artist.
The Museo Moderno’s announcement records both his age and the city of his death, marking the passing of an Argentine artist whose life is dated by the institution as 1943 to 2026.
