The Reina Sofía has announced its 2026–27 exhibition season, which begins with exhibitions by Eli Cortiñas, Miguel Ángel Rojas and Marta Minujín. The programme was unveiled on 7 September 2026.
The opening marks the first stage of a schedule that will extend into 2027, when Anne Truitt, Fernanda Laguna, Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian, La Ribot, Marlene Dumas and Pacita Abad are due to feature in the programme. Rather than assigning formats to individual artists, the announcement identifies painting, performance, textiles, archives and geometry as the practices and fields encompassed by its 2027 plans.
The concise announcement sets out a two-year sequence: three exhibitions at the season’s outset, followed by six further artists named for 2027. Its selection of programme-wide terms points to a calendar spanning work in painting and textiles as well as performance, archival material and geometry.
Marta Minujín’s ‘La Menesunda’ is scheduled to be reinstalled at the Reina Sofía on 18 November 2026.
