Suntory Museum of Art in Tokyo will present ‘Itsuo Museum Collection: Masterpieces of Buson, Goshun, and Tea Ceremony’ from 16 September to 8 November 2026.
The exhibition will include Goshun’s Important Cultural Property ‘White Plum Blossoms Screen’ throughout its run. The work, regarded as one of the representative masterpieces of the Itsuo Museum collection, will be shown in Tokyo for the first time in about 30 years.
The exhibition brings together selected works from the Itsuo Museum collection, ranging from fragments of classical calligraphy and tea utensils to paintings by Yosa Buson and Goshun. Works will be rotated during the exhibition for conservation reasons.
The museum will be open from 10am to 6pm, with extended hours on Fridays. It is closed on Tuesdays, except 22 September and 3 November, when it will be open until 6pm.
