Wits Art Museum will present Véronique Hoog’s ‘The Vanilla Sisters Lunch Club: Our Portraits our Stories’ from 16 September to 21 November 2026.
The exhibition brings together large-scale portraits of women living with albinism and stories addressing resilience, goals and achievements. The stories will be accessible through QR codes and through a virtual exhibition on veroniquehoog.com from 16 September.
An opening will take place on Tuesday 15 September at 18:00 for 18:30. Art historian and portrait artist Cyril Coetzee will open the exhibition, followed by remarks from Molebo Lekwane and Terry-Ann Adams, members of The Vanilla Sisters Lunch Club. Mampo Sethokgwa, also a member of the club, will provide sign-language interpretation.
Hoog will lead a walkabout on Saturday 19 September at 12:00. Admission is free. Wits Art Museum is open Tuesday to Saturday, from 10:00 to 16:00.
