Mary M. Talbot and Bryan Talbot will launch their new graphic novel, ‘Lo! An Amazon! The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Mary Wollstonecraft’, at The Cartoon Museum in London on 16 September 2026. The event, scheduled for 18:30 to 20:30, will focus on the life and work of the foundational feminist philosopher and author Mary Wollstonecraft.
The book is described by the museum as a new graphic novel from the award-winning duo. Its subject, Wollstonecraft, was an influential eighteenth-century writer and thinker whose work established her as a foundational figure in feminist philosophy. The launch places the historical subject within the medium of graphic storytelling, though the available event information does not provide further details about the book’s narrative structure, artwork or publication arrangements.
The event forms part of The Cartoon Museum’s autumn programme of evening events. The museum, operated by Cartoon Art Trust Limited, is based at 63 Wells Street in Fitzrovia, London. Its permanent collection includes British editorial cartoons, caricatures and comic strips dating from the eighteenth century to the present, alongside a programme of changing exhibitions and public events.
The launch is taking place during the museum’s 2026 presentation of ‘Does my head look BIG in this? The art of portrait caricature’, which runs from 23 May to 1 November. That exhibition examines portrait caricature from its origins in Renaissance Italy through its eighteenth-century English ‘Golden Age’ and into its contemporary popularity. The museum’s autumn programme also includes a panel discussion connected to the caricature exhibition, as well as workshops and other comics-focused events; these are separate from the Talbots’ book launch.
The Cartoon Museum is also showing ‘Well Actually: An Accurate Enough Collection’, a temporary display by cartoonist and humorist Madeline Horwath, from 7 July to 4 October 2026. The display brings together comics inspired by subjects including medieval poetry, diseases and art. Horwath’s presentation is likewise separate from the September launch.
Advance booking information for ‘Lo! An Amazon!’ is provided through the museum’s event listings, which invite visitors to reserve a place and obtain a copy of the graphic novel. The launch will be held at The Cartoon Museum, 63 Wells Street, London W1A 3AE, on Wednesday 16 September 2026 from 18:30 to 20:30.
