Galerie Millennium has extended its ‘Summer Exhibition’ in Prague, giving visitors until 4 September 2026 to see a group presentation that includes assemblages by Jan Švankmajer, collages by Jiří Kolář and Adolf Hoffmeister, and sculptural objects by Xénia Hoffmeisterová and Kryštof Hošek.
The gallery announced the extension on 26 August, saying the exhibition had originally been due to close shortly afterward. The revised end date is listed as 4 September 2026. No opening date or formal curatorial statement is provided in the announcement, which presents the show through a selection of artists and works rather than a stated theme.
Among the works on view are two assemblages by Švankmajer. The presentation also includes collages by Kolář and Hoffmeister, alongside sculptural objects by Hoffmeisterová. Hošek is described by the gallery as appearing there for the first time, making his inclusion a particular point of emphasis in the announcement.
The exhibition brings together artists associated with distinct forms of assemblage, collage and object-making, although the gallery does not specify how the works are arranged or how many pieces are included. The announcement names the artists and media represented but does not provide individual artwork titles, dimensions, materials or dates for the majority of the works.
Galerie Millennium is located at Tržiště 5 in Prague 1, in the Malá Strana district. The gallery’s published visiting hours are Tuesday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m. Its online shop separately offers works under categories including works on paper, painting, sculpture and objects, art made before 1945, jewellery and books; the gallery says exhibition works can also be viewed and purchased through its e-shop.
The gallery’s online catalogue lists artists including Švankmajer, Kolář, Adolf Hoffmeister, Xénia Hoffmeisterová and Hošek. It identifies two items under Švankmajer’s name, one under Kolář’s, 16 under Hoffmeister’s, 44 under Hoffmeisterová’s and one under Hošek’s, although the catalogue does not establish that these counts correspond to the works currently installed in the exhibition.
The ‘Summer Exhibition’ remains on view at Galerie Millennium through 4 September 2026.
