Kunsthalle Tübingen has announced ‘Alex Katz. Dancing with Reality’, a forthcoming exhibition of works by the American artist Alex Katz that will run from 28 March to 13 September 2026. The newsletter accompanying the announcement points to ‘Hommage to Monet 1’ as one of the featured works and frames the show around Katz’s late work.

The exhibition is presented by Kunsthalle Tübingen, which is also using the newsletter to outline a broad public programme around the run of the show. The institution says it is offering regular guided tours alongside activities designed for different audiences, including students, children and older visitors. The material stresses access and participation as part of the exhibition’s presentation.

Among the scheduled formats is ‘Occupy Art’, a short tour and apero for students and young adults. The newsletter lists the session for Thursday, 6 August, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and notes that the tour will also be offered in English from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. The programme is described as a chance to discover the “multi-layered late work” of Alex Katz and then continue the discussion in the café next door.

For younger audiences, Kunsthalle Tübingen is planning ‘Kids 4 Kids’, a children-led tour on Saturday, 8 August, from 2 to 3 p.m. The format is aimed at children aged seven and up and invites children to present their own perspectives on the works in the exhibition. The newsletter says this tour requires advance registration and carries a fee of 3 euros plus admission.

The institution is also continuing its regular public guided tours during the exhibition period. An English-language public tour is listed for Friday, 7 August, from 4 to 5 p.m., with no prior registration required and a fee of 4 euros plus admission. Additional public tours are scheduled every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at stated times, also without advance booking, subject to minimum and maximum participant numbers.

Families are being offered another recurring format, ‘Kunsthalle für Kids’, on Sundays and public holidays from 2 to 5 p.m. During those hours, children between six and twelve can take part in supervised, age-appropriate activities while adults visit the exhibition. The museum describes the programme as hands-on work in the Kunsthalle’s studio, where children explore materials and artistic techniques and make their own works.

For visitors aged 60 and over, the newsletter lists ‘Kunsthalle 60+’ every Wednesday from 3 to 4:30 p.m., except on public holidays and during special events. The session is titled ‘New York Is Calling – Auf einen Kaffee mit dem Bildermacher Alex Katz’ and combines a guided tour with conversation and coffee in the café. The exhibition runs at Kunsthalle Tübingen from 28 March to 13 September 2026.
