Setsu Asakura

Japanese painter and stage designer (1922-2014), daughter of the sculptor Fumio Asakura. Initially trained in Japanese-style painting, she later developed a modernist approach and became one of Japan's most prolific scenic designers, producing hundreds of works for theatre, illustration, and design.
