Juan Ribalta

Spain, 1596–1628

Juan Ribalta was a Spanish Baroque painter born and died in Valencia. His works and style are similar to those of his father, Francisco Ribalta. He painted well-known pieces such as Saint Sebastian at the Valencia Cathedral and portraits including that of poet Gaspar de Aguilar. Some sources suggest he was born in Madrid before moving to Valencia.
