Esther Boix

Spain, 1927–2014

Catalan painter and teacher (1927-2014) whose work engaged with social themes during the Franco era. A co-founder of the L'ARC school of expression techniques in Barcelona and a member of the Postectura group, she trained at Barcelona's fine-arts schools and made her solo debut at the Argos gallery in 1955.
