Domenico Tintoretto

Venetian painter (1560-1635) and son of the master Jacopo Tintoretto, trained in his father's prestigious workshop. After inheriting the studio in 1594, he developed his own voice emphasising landscape elements and atmospheric effects. He executed major commissions throughout Venice and Mantua, continuing the Tintoretto legacy in 17th-century Venetian painting.
