Chiharu Shiota is a Japanese performance and installation artist who has lived and worked in Berlin, Germany since 1996. She was educated in Japan, Australia, and Germany. Shiota's work explores themes related to the body, flesh, memory, territory, and alienation by interweaving materiality and the psychic perception of spaces.
