Annibale Carracci

Annibale Carracci was an Italian painter and instructor active in Bologna and Rome. He, along with his brother Agostino and cousin Ludovico, was influential in developing a leading strand of the Baroque style that combined classical monumentality with dynamic movement. Artists working under his direction at the Palazzo Farnese had a significant impact on Roman painting for many years.
