The Getty Center will host Baltimore quartet Horse Lords on July 25 as part of its long-running 'Off the 405' summer performance series. The free evening event pairs a DJ set by Sly Ida with a live performance by the band, whose music the Getty describes as moving between experimental minimalism, post-punk and tightly wound rhythmic systems.

According to the event listing, the concert runs from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., with Sly Ida opening at 6 p.m. Tickets are free but required for entry, and reservations open July 2, 2026. The ticket also serves as the reservation for admission to the Getty Center, while parking is subject to a fee.

Horse Lords are identified by the Getty as a Baltimore-born quartet: Owen Gardner, Andrew Bernstein, Max Eilbacher and Sam Haberman. The listing says their music is built from interlocking patterns, shifting meters, microtonal tuning and just intonation, with guitars, saxophone, bass and percussion functioning as parts of a larger rhythmic engine rather than as individual solo voices. The group’s sound is described as advancing through repetition and gradual realignment.

The concert is presented at the Getty Center campus in Los Angeles and is part of 'Off the 405', which the Getty says has brought musical acts to the museum’s summer evenings since 2009. The series is framed as an ongoing presentation of contemporary music in the museum setting, with this installment continuing that format in late July.

The event listing also notes that the performance will be standing room only, though some seating will be available toward the back of the space. Wheelchair seating is available throughout the Museum Courtyard, and wheelchair rentals are offered on a first-come, first-served basis at the Lower Tram Station and the Coat Check Room in the Museum Entrance Hall.

In its description of the band’s recent work, the Getty points to releases on the RVNG Intl. label, including 'FRKWYS Vol. 18: Extended Field' with experimental composer Arnold Dreyblatt. The listing says that project reflects Horse Lords’ continuing dialogue with minimalist and avant-garde traditions while pushing those ideas into a more kinetic form.

The Getty says guests may arrive at the center before their timed entry and are encouraged to spend the evening in the gardens and galleries, which are open late on Saturdays. 'Off the 405: Horse Lords' is scheduled for July 25, 2026, at the Getty Center in Los Angeles.
