The Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach is set to stage another edition of ‘Art After Dark’ on Friday, August 14, 2026, with an evening program running from 5 to 10 p.m. The museum describes the weekly series as an eclectic mix of live performances, film screenings, workshops, tours, and more, with this week’s lineup including a DJ set by DJ Rumble, docent-led tours, and an open studio workshop.

Admission for ‘Art After Dark’ is $10 for adults and seniors, $5 for students, and free for members. The museum says parking for the Friday night program is available in its main lot across the street at 1501 South Dixie Highway, with a $9 flat rate during the event; members park free. The Norton’s website also notes that Friday nights are open to the public until 10 p.m.

The evening’s music program centers on DJ Rumble, scheduled from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Great Hall. In the museum’s event listing, the performer is presented as someone who “moves rooms,” reads the crowd “like a conversation,” and shapes each set in real time rather than following a fixed setlist. The wording places the DJ performance at the center of the night’s social energy rather than as a separate concert off to one side of the museum program.

‘Art After Dark’ will also include an open studio session from 6 to 9 p.m. in Classroom 2, led by teaching artist Jaclyn Tufford. The workshop takes its cue from an Asian tradition of folding paper, inviting participants to make fortune cookies. The program is drop-in in format, and the museum says materials are included in its general description of open studio activities.

Docent-led tours are scheduled at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., each limited to 25 visitors. At 5:30 p.m., visitors may choose between ‘60 Seconds: Polaroids from the Collection’ and ‘Recognition of Art by Women: In Retrospect.’ At 7 p.m., the options are ‘Recognition of Art by Women: In Retrospect’ or ‘Highlights of the Collection’ in English or Spanish. Tour wristbands must be collected at the Membership Table one hour before the tour, and the tours meet in the Great Hall.

The exhibition pair featured in the tours reflects the Norton’s current programming. ‘60 Seconds: Polaroids from the Collection,’ on view through August 16, is drawn from the museum’s collection and looks at how artists have used Polaroid and instant film for immediacy, experimentation, and manipulation. ‘Recognition of Art by Women: In Retrospect,’ on view through September 27, brings together work by nine artists from the museum’s series that began in 2011 to recognize and promote living women artists through solo exhibitions. The retrospective presentation features work by Jenny Saville, Sylvia Plimack Mangold, Phyllida Barlow, Klara Kristalova, Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Svenja Deininger, Nina Chanel Abney, María Berrío, and Rose B. Simpson.

The museum’s site places ‘Art After Dark’ within a broader summer schedule that also includes ‘Art Around the World Community Day’ on Saturday, August 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. That free program offers gallery activations, self-guided activities through the collection, tours, performances, family storytelling, and art-making sessions, with free overflow parking available for the day at the Family Church lot.
