The Beatles Story in Liverpool is marking the 60th anniversary of The Beatles’ 'Revolver' with a competition offering a rare LP signed by artist Klaus Voormann. The prize draw is open until 23:59 on 31 August 2026, according to the museum’s competition page.

The anniversary falls on the dates on which the album was first released in the UK and the US: 5 August 1966 in Britain and 8 August 1966 in America. The Beatles Story’s post notes that 'Revolver' was the group’s seventh album and places its recording at Abbey Road Studios over a three-month period after the band’s final UK tour in December 1965.

The museum’s announcement pairs the record’s musical history with the visual identity that helped define it. 'Revolver' is widely recognised for its cover art by Klaus Voormann, the German-born bassist and artist who had been a friend of The Beatles since their early Hamburg years. The Beatles Story says Voormann combined line art and collage for the sleeve design, which won the Grammy Award for Best Album Cover, Graphic Arts in 1967.

The competition prize is described as a rare copy of 'Revolver' signed by Voormann. The museum says the record has been independently valued by Tracks Ltd at around £100. Entry is available through The Beatles Story’s website, with terms and conditions applying.

The museum’s text also quotes Ringo Starr reflecting on the album’s place in the band’s development, saying: “Musically, I felt we were progressing in leaps and bounds. Some of the stuff on this and the Rubber Soul album was brilliant. There was nothing like it.” The quote appears on the competition page alongside the anniversary notice.

The Beatles Story, which describes the offer as part of its 2026 anniversary coverage, has attached the promotion to a specific closing date rather than a broader celebratory programme. The competition remains open through the end of August, giving fans a chance to enter for the signed LP until the final minute of 31 August 2026.
