Dart Gallery has announced a new group of paintings by Martin Procter, with fresh work said to have just arrived at the gallery. The presentation focuses on locations around the South Hams and on Procter’s further exploration of the storm impact on Torcross, expanding a body of landscape painting rooted in the Devon coast.
The news sits within Dart Gallery’s broader ‘Summer 2026’ showcase, described by the gallery as filling both floors throughout the summer with new artworks by a diverse selection of artists. The gallery says many of the participating artists respond to the beauty of its local setting, and Procter is among those included in the seasonal line-up.
In the gallery’s exhibition text, Procter is listed alongside artists including Theo Crutchley-Mack, Rosa Sepple PPRI, Stewart Edmondson, Jan Nelson, Chris Forsey RI, Nick Mackman, Natalie Rymer, Debbie Lush, Belinda Millar and Kit Johns. Within that context, Procter’s work is identified with favourite South Hams locations, including Torcross, while the gallery’s announcement singles out the new paintings’ focus on landscape and storm aftermath.
The works named in the release are ‘Mothercombe 4’, ‘After the storm, Slapton’, ‘Blackpool Sands 4’, ‘Hallsands Lost 4’, ‘Crabrock Point 2’ and ‘Slapton Storm 2’. The gallery’s price information places the works between £1,750 and £5,995, with ‘After the storm, Slapton’ listed at the top of that range and ‘Blackpool Sands 4’ and ‘Hallsands Lost 4’ among the lower-priced works.
The accompanying email notice describes the new paintings as six works for the summer show and says they are full of rich colour, playful details and Procter’s recognisable approach to composition. It also says that in two of the new paintings he has further explored the impact of the winter storms on Torcross. The website text, by contrast, refers to new work from Martin that captures locations around the South Hams and extends the storm theme.
The gallery lists the ‘Summer 2026’ presentation at Dart Gallery in Dartmouth, United Kingdom, from 1 June to 1 September 2026. Dart Gallery’s website gives its address as 4 Lower Street, Dartmouth, and its opening times as Monday, Wednesday to Saturday 10 to 4, Sunday 11 to 4, with Tuesday closed. The new Martin Procter paintings are presented as part of that summer display and are available on the gallery’s website and in the gallery now.
