Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference Center is promoting a community-focused family event at the Buell Children’s Museum in Pueblo on Saturday, August 8, with ‘Infinity Day’ scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum day is described as a celebration of creativity, fun and “making history,” with activities included with museum admission.
The event centers on a community time capsule project. Visitors will be able to help fill the capsule, create art and letters to be buried for the next 50 years, and take part in journaling and writing projects that will become part of the Infinity Day archive. The museum’s promotional material also invites participants to leave notes to themselves for later rediscovery, framing the day around reflection as well as making.
Alongside the time capsule activity, the museum is planning hands-on art, math and outdoor programming throughout the day. The promotional materials list creative challenges, games, take-home projects, and family-friendly activities designed to run across the full schedule. The event is presented as a single-day offering with admission covering all activities.
The museum’s materials also include a brief note on the holiday itself, saying Infinity Day was created in 1988 by philosopher, poet and artist Jean-Pierre Ady Fenyo to celebrate curiosity, creativity and limitless possibilities. The infinity symbol, or lemniscate, is described in the same material as representing new paths, boundary-breaking and thinking beyond the ordinary.
The event arrives in a busy period for the center’s wider programming. In the same email announcement, Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference Center notes ongoing ADA upgrades between the Jackson Conference Center and HTW Galleries, and says visitors should enter HTW through the Buell until further notice. The announcement also includes a separate message about the campus being available free of charge during business hours to wildfire evacuees until further notice, but that notice is distinct from the Infinity Day listing.
‘Infinity Day’ is set for Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Buell Children’s Museum in Pueblo, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
