South London Gallery will host a free curator’s tour of Paulo Nimer Pjota: 'Encantados' and Ranti Bam: 'Sacred Groves' on Wednesday, 19 August 2026, with the session running from 6:30 to 7:30pm. The tour is led by the gallery’s Director, Margot Heller, and Head of Programme Lily Tonge, according to the gallery’s event listing.
The event is presented as part of the gallery’s current exhibitions programme and is open to the public with booking required. The gallery says participants should meet at the bookshop at 65 Peckham Rd, London, SE5 8UH, before the tour begins. Afterward, visitors are invited to explore the galleries and browse the shop, which the listing says remains open until 9pm.
The curator tour links two exhibitions that are both listed under South London Gallery’s What’s On pages for 1 May to 23 August 2026. 'Paulo Nimer Pjota: Encantados' and 'Ranti Bam: Sacred Groves' are shown across the Main Gallery and Fire Station Galleries, and the tour is described as a way to move through both projects in one guided visit. The gallery’s event page does not provide further curatorial details about the exhibitions’ themes beyond their titles and the fact that they are on view together.
South London Gallery’s programme also shows that the curator tour sits alongside other public events connected to the two exhibitions. A British Sign Language tour of 'Encantados' and 'Sacred Groves' is listed for Sunday, 16 August 2026, while a workshop titled 'Somatic Tuning' appears earlier in the month in relation to Ranti Bam’s exhibition. The curator-led session on 19 August is positioned as another free access point to the same exhibition pair.
Access information published on the event page notes that participants will need to walk or move during the tour, with seating available in the galleries. The gallery also flags low lighting in some spaces and says the event may become crowded. A large print guide is available, and ear plugs, ear defenders, magnifying glasses and wheelchairs are listed as available on request. The gallery’s BSL tour page likewise identifies the Main Gallery and Fire Station Galleries as the exhibition spaces involved in the programme.
South London Gallery describes itself as free and open to all, and its support page says the organisation is a charity that funds its exhibitions, events and education work through donations and related income. The August programme listing places the curator tour within that wider public programme, with the gallery continuing to present free events around the two summer exhibitions before they close on 23 August 2026.
