The Chrysler Museum of Art is setting up 'IgNITE: BLING!' for July 31 as a late-night program built around fashion, music, performance and contemporary jewelry. The event runs from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk and is open to ages 18 and up, with admission listed at $10 for members and $25 for non-members; tickets increase by $10 on the day of the event.
The museum describes 'IgNITE: BLING!' as a high-energy, multisensory celebration inspired by 'Constellations: Contemporary Jewelry from the Dallas Museum of Art', which opened July 10, 2026 and is on view through January 3, 2027 in the Special Exhibition Galleries. The exhibition brings more than 350 works of wearable art to the Chrysler Museum, drawing on nearly a century of contemporary jewelry from artists around the world.
According to the exhibition materials, 'Constellations' was organized by the Dallas Museum of Art and is the first exhibition dedicated to that museum’s jewelry collection. It features more than 230 artists from 41 countries and is presented through four thematic groupings: Zones of the Body, Archetypes, Signals and Play. The show also includes case studies that focus on individual artists or forms, along with a section tracing the collection’s evolution from early acquisitions in 1950 to newly commissioned works by emerging artists.
The museum’s promotional language for 'IgNITE: BLING!' makes clear that the evening is meant to extend the exhibition’s interest in adornment and design into a social setting. Guests are invited to wear diamonds, pearls, iced-out grillz, titanium bangles or other statement pieces. The event page says the night will include a red-carpet paparazzi experience, cocktails and mocktails by Model Citizen Cocktails LLC, DJ Illmatic Beats, and performances and fashion presentations, including the Xtreme Men’s Fashion Show presented by FBFS and the 757 People’s Runway.
A local vendor market called Small Things–Huge Bling Market is also listed, alongside a drag-centered Met Gala looks review and art-making activities with WPA, described as building a pop-up sculpture. The museum’s event copy emphasizes that dancing, art-making and other creative happenings will be part of the evening. A separate event listing also notes a Foster Beauty Fashion Show men’s fashion extravaganza.
The Chrysler Museum has placed the event within its broader 'IgNITE' series, and registration is recommended. The museum says members receive free or discounted admission to events, programs and classes, while non-members pay the higher listed price. It also notes that tickets are available in advance and will rise at the door.
'Constellations: Contemporary Jewelry from the Dallas Museum of Art' is presented at the Chrysler Museum with support from G Marie Luxuries. The exhibition remains on view in Norfolk through January 3, 2027.
