The company’s ICA program includes performances on Friday, November 20, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, November 21, at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, November 22, at 2 p.m.

‘Collage Revisited’ is a full-company remount of ‘The History of Collage,’ the last collaboration between Bill T. Jones and Arnie Zane before Zane’s death. Originally created in 1988, the remounting belongs to a legacy project for the company, looking back in order to look forward.

The work recalls the excitement Jones and Zane shared as they set out to reconsider dance spectacle during the 1980s art scene, and it blends dance, music and spoken word while exploring themes of identity.

‘Story/’ is the latest result of the company’s continuing investigation of John Cage’s ‘Indeterminacy’ as a choreographic tool. Following the model of ‘Story/Time,’ the work employs a random menu of movement accompanied by Franz Schubert’s ‘String Quartet No. 14 (Death and the Maiden)’ to craft a conversation between music and movement.

‘Story/’ was developed in residence at the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College, while ‘Story/’ and ‘Collage Revisited’ were developed with residency support from the Brooklyn Academy of Music and Kaatsbaan Cultural Park.
