The museum will close temporarily for renovations from 13 October 2026.
The proposals include ‘Extramural 2026’, ‘The Chairs of Tàpies’ and ‘Following the Sun’.
On 15 October 2026, from 18:00 to 18:30, Claudia Pagès Rabal will present ‘Per aquell moment ja hauré estat al món’ at the UPF Reflection Room as part of ‘The Chairs of Tàpies’. The work is a photo-light installation with a recited text, based on Antoni Tàpies’s reflections around walls, doors, graffiti and inscriptions. The proposal belongs to the cycle ‘Invocar l’escletxa’, curated by Judith Barnés.
A study meeting on 9 December 2026, from 18:00 to 20:00, will focus on Antoni Tàpies’s ‘Història natural’ series from 1950 and 1951. The meeting is described as an encounter of experts around a series that evokes a primordial yet deeply contemporary universe. In that account, the graphic gesture becomes a mental trace, psychic sedimentation and an inquiry into the origins of form and human experience.
On 27 February 2027, from 11:00 to 13:30, a guided itinerary titled ‘La Montaner y Simón, una editorial amb història’ will explore the history of the former Montaner y Simón publishing house, Palau Montaner and Casa Thomas. The itinerary concerns works by the modernist architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner.
