Fondazione Querini Stampalia will present ‘Nigel Cooke: Bad Habits’ from 5 May to 22 November 2026, during the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. The exhibition is curated by Evelyn C. Hankins.

The project will be the British artist’s first solo exhibition in Italy. It is made possible with the support of Pace Gallery.

During his stay in Venice, Cooke will create a series of large-format paintings. The paintings will be shaped by the historical and cultural heritage of the foundation and by the living fabric of the city. Proposed by the foundation, the exhibition project was conceived from the beginning as a process developed by living in the city. Before the exhibition took a formal curatorial shape, the process prioritised time spent immersed in, researching and remaining close to its places.

An artwork detail on the exhibition page identifies Cooke’s ‘The Nurture of Jupiter’ from 2024.
