Festival del Arte Popular 2026 will take place from October 13 through October 18, 2026, at the National Museum of Mexican Art.
Artisans from across Mexico will gather for a celebration of the country’s one-of-a-kind arte popular, bringing unique techniques and folk art; visitors can meet artists and watch live demonstrations.
From Puebla, Daniel Paredes and Maria Fernanda Rosales Ruiz will present ceramic Day of the Dead figures, nicho boxes, and more.
Jacobo Ángeles Ojeda of Oaxaca will present wood carvings, while Audias and Mariana Roldan of Guerrero will present amate paintings.
The program also includes Pedro Montaño Lorenzo’s foot-pedal loom weaving from Oaxaca and Pascuala Vázquez Hernández’s backstrap loom weaving from Chiapas.
Edith Orozco Segoviano of Guanajuato is identified as a gold-plated jewelry designer who also makes papier-mâché pieces.
On October 14, the festival will open to the public from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with the galleries open for viewing.
