'SLG Forever', the online selling exhibition with Christie's, is entering its final few days. The exhibition was on view at Christie's in London from 5 to 24 June and remains available online through 30 September.
The exhibition is raising funds for the South London Gallery, a charity established in 1891 that has championed the role of art and artists in society and is marking its 135th anniversary in 2026. It is the first of a series of fundraising initiatives organised by the SLG to unfold over the course of the anniversary year.
More than 25 leading British and international artists with strong connections to the SLG and its director, Margot Heller, who is in her 25th year in the role, have donated works to the exhibition. The participating artists include Frank Bowling, Tracey Emin and Anish Kapoor.
Several participating artists have previously had solo exhibitions at the South London Gallery, including Firelei Báez, Nairy Baghramian, Alvaro Barrington, Leonardo Drew, Tracey Emin, Ryan Gander, Katharina Grosse, Christina Kimeze, Michael Landy, Pope.L, Magali Reus and Keith Tyson.
South London Fine Art Gallery and Library will receive a minimum of 80% of the sale price from each artwork included and sold in the exhibition. Proceeds from sales will fund upgrades to the historic main gallery building, commissions of new works by contemporary artists, and efforts to engage thousands more local children and young people each year through the SLG's Communities & Learning programmes.
