"CHIHULY at Meijer Gardens," the outdoor presentation of glass sculpture by Dale Chihuly at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan, closes on Sunday, November 1, 2026. The exhibition, presented by Macatawa Bank, opened on May 2 and places Chihuly's glass across the park's 158 acres, among its gardens and water features.

Highlights named by Meijer Gardens include monumental glass sculptures set throughout the gardens, Vibrant Reeds installations in several outdoor landscapes and a number of site-specific works. There is no set route: garden paths lead visitors from one installation to the next, and staff and volunteers are stationed around the grounds. Access to the outdoor works is included with general admission, with no timed ticket required, and members enter free.

A companion indoor exhibition, "CHIHULY: Radiant Forms," has been extended through January 10, 2027. Requiring an add-on timed ticket, it covers 40 years of Chihuly's work, with original drawings and paintings in the Sculpture Galleries and a rare "fax-room" installation. Visitors can combine both exhibitions with the rest of the park in a single visit; according to Meijer Gardens, most spend one to four hours on the two Chihuly presentations.

Chihuly is an American artist known for large-scale architectural installations and for his role in transforming the studio glass movement. Besides glass, he works with paint, charcoal, neon, ice and Polyvitro, and his work is held in more than 200 museum collections, among them the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Corning Museum of Glass. His exhibitions have included "Chihuly Over Venice" (1995–96) and "Chihuly in the Light of Jerusalem" (1999), as well as presentations at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (2019) and Gardens by the Bay in Singapore (2021). Chihuly Garden and Glass, a long-term exhibition at the Seattle Center, opened in 2012.

Meijer Gardens also offers a guided outdoor walking tour of the installations and a hop-on, hop-off tram, and is open until 7 p.m. on selected evenings in October.
