Precious Lucie Rie works from Japan will gather in Mie for ‘Lucie Rie: Elegant Vessels Connecting East and West.’ The exhibition is scheduled to run from 26 September through 13 December 2026.
Its stated theme is Rie’s vessels as a point of connection between East and West.
Among the identified works is Lucie Rie’s ‘Blue-glazed Bowl,’ made around 1980 and held in the Inai Collection, deposited with the National Crafts Museum. The exhibition also includes Lucie Rie’s ‘Bronze-glazed Vase,’ made around 1980.
General admission is 1,200 yen, while students pay 1,000 yen and high-school students and younger visitors enter free.
