'Abundance: New Acquisitions from 2016 to 2026' is on view August 18–December 5, 2026, in the University of New Mexico Art Museum’s Main and Van Deren Coke galleries, presenting dozens of recently acquired artworks and tracing how a museum collection is built through individual artworks, conversations and acts of generosity.
The exhibition features works acquired through gifts and purchases in the past decade, including prints, photographs, paintings and sculpture created between 1810 and 2024 by 44 artists from nine countries. It is curated by Mary Statzer.
Yozo Hamaguchi’s 'Watermelon' (1981), a color mezzotint, entered the collection as a 2017 gift from Russ and Revathi A. Davidson.
Julie Blackmon’s 'American Gothic' (2008), an archival pigment print, was given to the museum in 2024 by Daniel Greenburg and Susan Steinhauser in honor of Janet Russek, David Scheinbaum and Justin Fiset.
More than 420 guests from across campus and the community attended a reception celebrating the reopening of UNMAM’s public exhibition program.
