Towner’s New Bespoke Space Expands Its Display of Eric Ravilious Works This Autumn Image: Towner Eastbourne

This autumn, Towner is building upon its extensive work and research into Eric Ravilious and his contemporaries with a new bespoke space featuring an expanded display of Ravilious’s works from the Towner Collection.

Towner says it has long been the custodian of the largest collection of works by Eric Ravilious (1903–1942).

Ravilious’s work is shown alongside works by some of his closest friends and peers, including his wife Tirzah Garwood and his close friends Edward Bawden and Peggy Angus. These works all tie into Towner Collection themes of landscape, place and home.

One identified work on the page is Eric Ravilious’s ‘Cuckmere Haven’, dated 1939, at Towner Eastbourne.

The gallery space will also incorporate Towner’s Collection Library, which features books relating to Ravilious and other artists in the collection.
