A stand dedicated to Lynn Chadwick’s work will be presented at British Art Fair from 24 to 27 September 2026 at Saatchi Gallery in London.
The presentation will showcase the breadth of Chadwick’s oeuvre across four distinct decades, including beast and couple sculptures alongside rare drawings and lithographs.
Announced highlights include ‘Second Maquette for Teddy Boy and Girl’ (1956), ‘Moon Series B’ (1965–6), ‘The Stranger’ (1954) and ‘Maquette IX Sitting Elektra’ (1969).
The fair describes itself as the UK’s only fair dedicated exclusively to Modern and Contemporary British Art and is set within Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea.
The preview describes ‘The Stranger’ as an early 1954 sculpture that charts the progression of the figure in Chadwick’s work, with references to prehistoric cave painting, the natural world and contemporary culture. It says Chadwick’s ‘Moon Series’ explored a more abstracted vision of the moon through rounded corners, crescent shapes and deep shadows, forming eye-like compositions that echoed contemporaneous sculptures such as ‘Star III’, which will also be shown at the fair.
