The exhibition showcases 50 works across two floors of the Aargauer Kunsthaus. For this year's exhibition, 151 proposals were submitted, and a jointly appointed jury selected the participants.
The annual Auswahl presents the variety and expressive force of art made in the region. Artists can apply for the exhibition through the Aargauer Kuratorium and the Aargauer Kunsthaus. The submissions are also used to award work grants to artists with close connections to the canton of Aargau.
Levent Pinarci is the invited artist in Auswahl 26. 'Botenstoff #5' is a 2024 work from the series 'Botenstoffe 1–5', made as a 3D-printed lithophane with PLA, an aluminium housing and an LED.
During Auswahl 26, the museum's collection display pauses. The galleries on the upper and lower floors show exclusively works from the selection. The collection display resumes in January 2027.
