A 1897 Alphonse Mucha Poster Shared on World Chocolate Day

Catalonia’s Department of Culture has incorporated two paintings into the National Collection through a tax-payment arrangement: a still life by Juan de Zurbarán and a self-portrait by Anton Raphael Mengs.

An exhibition examining works deposited at the museum by the Francoist Servicio de Defensa del Patrimonio Nacional (SDPAN) runs from 20 February to 4 October 2026.

'Mucha in Paris with Angelina Lippert' will take place as an in-person lecture on October 23 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Angelina Lippert, executive director and chief curator at Poster House, will present an in-depth look at Alphonse Mucha’s Paris-era posters, tracing his rise from struggling illustrator to the most sought-after commercial artist of the late 1800s.
