Berggruen Gallery in San Francisco is presenting 'Summer Highlights', a group exhibition on view from July 9 to August 27, 2026. The gallery announced the show through its website and newsletter, identifying installation photography by Shaun Roberts and listing a wide roster of participating artists drawn from different generations and practices.

The exhibition brings together work by Diana Al-Hadid, John Alexander, Richard Avedon, Val Britton, Claes Oldenburg & Coosje van Bruggen, Dean Byington, Bruce Cohen, Heather Day, Liam Everett, Isca Greenfield-Sanders, Michael Gregory, Jane Hammond, Jacob Hashimoto, Matt Kleberg, Paul Kremer, Anna Kunz, Rachel Simon Marino, Barry McGee, Tom McKinley, Pedro S. de Movellán, Ed Ruscha, Joel Shapiro, Stephanie H. Shih, Darren Waterston, Lucy Williams and Donald Roller Wilson. Berggruen’s materials do not assign a single thematic statement to the exhibition, but the selection spans photography, collage, ceramics, drawing, mixed media, sculpture-related practices and painting.

Several of the works highlighted in the gallery’s online presentation are new works dated 2025 or 2026, while others are earlier pieces. Among the paintings listed are Bruce Cohen’s 'Still Life with Backlit Plums', 'Still Life with Spring Sky' and 'Untitled, Interior with Many Cherries', all from 2026; Tom McKinley’s 'July Evening' and 'Various Miracles', both from 2026; and Rachel Simon Marino’s 'Curtain Call', also from 2026. The gallery also includes Val Britton’s 'Cosmic Structure #2' from 2026 and 'In the Dreaming Cobalt Blue of the Bright Night' from 2025.

The installation view also places works in other media alongside the paintings. Richard Avedon is represented by 'Santa Monica, California, September 30, 1963, 1963 (printed 1993)', a gelatin silver print. Ed Ruscha appears with 'Five Views From the Panhandle', described as a portfolio of five gelatin silver photographs. Isca Greenfield-Sanders contributes 'Salt Beach', a 2026 woodcut on Gampi paper mounted on Coventry Rag, while Stephanie H. Shih’s 'Pistachio Ice Cream' is listed as a ceramic work from 2023.

Jane Hammond’s contributions are catalogued as botanical collages with materially specific techniques and long titles, including 'Campbell's Chicken Gumbo with Grape Hyacinth, Petunia and Dragonfly', 'Chimu Gold Cup with Monarch Chrysalis, Chrysanthemum and Anna’s Eighty-Eight' and 'Chinese Fish Snuff Bottle with Ladies Slippers and Tulip'. The exhibition materials also identify Barry McGee’s 'Untitled, 2020-24' as a 16-element work in acrylic, gouache and aerosol on panel, and Heather Day’s 'Deep, Green' as mixed media on sewn canvas.

Berggruen’s website presents the show as a current exhibition and offers selected works, installation shots and a press release page. The gallery’s email also points viewers to inquiry details and lists sales contacts and a press contact. 'Summer Highlights' remains on view at Berggruen Gallery through August 27, 2026.
