David Krut Arts will present ‘In Good Company’, a showcase of new works by Nkhensani Mkhari, at FNB Art Joburg 2026 in Johannesburg. Set for the Sandton Convention Centre, the presentation will include Mkhari’s work alongside work by other artists and foreground material developed through interactions within the David Krut Arts collective of artists, master printers and collaborators.
For Mkhari, the David Krut Workshop has served as a significant social and creative meeting place since the start of the collaboration. The artist does not have a dedicated studio, and found in the workshop a space to connect, exchange ideas and engage with other artists.
David Krut Arts describes the workshop environment as holding technical knowledge and expertise that has been shared and developed through ongoing collaborations. Multiple artists working in the studio at one time create opportunities for creative exchange, technical learning and dialogue. Such encounters feed into individual approaches, shaping artists’ processes and the bodies of work that result.
The presentation’s artist list includes William Kentridge, Mary Sibande, Oupa Sibeko and Lady Skollie, as well as Lusanda Ndita, Phumulani Ntuli, Olivia Pintér and Nathaniel Sheppard III. Their names indicate the wider group represented in a showcase that extends beyond Mkhari’s new works while remaining grounded in the David Krut Arts collective.
The announcement characterises the studio through the idea of suspension: a moment and space for listening as a relational act. In this account, the studio is where that suspension is rehearsed.
