The Milwaukee Art Museum marked the anniversary of Caspar David Friedrich’s birth on 5 September by directing audiences to ‘Seeking Revelation: German Romantic Prints and Drawings’, where the artist’s work is featured.
The museum’s message recalls that Friedrich was born in 1774 and frames the date as an invitation to explore the exhibition. The birthday observance gives a timely focus to ‘Seeking Revelation’ while drawing attention to Friedrich within its presentation of German Romantic prints and drawings.
‘Seeking Revelation: German Romantic Prints and Drawings’ is on view at the Bradley Family Gallery in Milwaukee from 19 June through 1 November 2026.
