Elmhurst Art Museum will open ‘Abbott Pattison: The Figure Forward’ to the public on 12 September 2026 in the McCormick House.
Curated by Liz Chilsen, the exhibition is an intimate presentation of sculptures by Abbott Pattison, described as a prominent Chicago mid-century American artist. The works are selected from the EAM Collection.
The museum will hold a Fall Exhibitions Reception on 18 September 2026. The reception will also mark ‘Resisting the Long War: A Revolution of Values’, an exhibition curated by Aaron Hughes, Amber Zora and Muhamed Medi.
‘Resisting the Long War: A Revolution of Values’ focuses on ways veteran artists turn from militarism toward solidarity, drawing on Dr. Martin Luther King’s 1967 speech ‘Beyond Vietnam’ and presenting creative processes used across generations.
