The Kunsthalle Rostock is presenting ‘Mein Panama’, an exhibition devoted to the artist Janosch, as part of its 2026 programme in Rostock, Germany. A September newsletter from the institution lists the exhibition as running through 13 September 2026, while the Kunsthalle’s current English-language website gives a longer run, from 14 August to 22 November 2026.
The discrepancy appears in the institution’s own published materials. The September newsletter, issued on 1 September, identifies ‘Janosch: Mein Panama’ under the Kunsthalle’s exhibitions and states “bis 13.09.2026” (“until 13 September 2026”). The museum’s exhibition listing, however, places ‘Mein Panama’ among its current shows with the dates 14 August 2026 to 22 November 2026. No explanation for the different end dates is provided in the available material.
The exhibition is taking place at the Kunsthalle Rostock, whose address is Hamburger Straße 40 in Rostock. The museum describes itself as an art hall with a collection and exhibition programme spanning contemporary and modern art. Its institutional history is closely connected to East German cultural policy: the building was designed in 1964 and opened five years later, according to the Kunsthalle’s website.
‘Mein Panama’ is presented alongside other exhibitions in the museum’s September programme. The newsletter lists Olaf Heine’s ‘Human Conditions’ through 6 September 2026 and announces Susanne Kandt-Horn’s ‘Eines Tages...’ from 27 September. The Kunsthalle website separately lists Hedwig Holtz-Sommer’s ‘Auf das Menschliche kommt es an...’, scheduled from 6 August 2026 through 31 December 2027, as well as a display of sculpture and plastics from the museum’s collection.
The newsletter also advertises regular public tours at the Kunsthalle. Tours through the exhibition programme are scheduled for Thursdays at 4 p.m., while tours of the collection in the museum’s storage facility take place on Tuesdays at 4 p.m. The September listing does not specify a dedicated tour, talk, catalogue, or other public event for ‘Mein Panama’ itself.
The Kunsthalle is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is closed on Mondays, according to its website. Because the institution’s newsletter and exhibition page publish different closing dates for ‘Mein Panama’, visitors should confirm the exhibition schedule directly with the Kunsthalle before planning a visit.
