Shepard Fairey’s ‘Earth Emissary (Jane Fonda)’ Listed for Sale on Singulart

A new work by Shepard Fairey, ‘Earth Emissary (Jane Fonda),’ has been listed for sale on the online art marketplace Singulart. The announcement appeared in a promotional email dated August 25, 2026, which presented the piece alongside newly listed works by Takashi Murakami and Alex Katz.

The Fairey work is described as measuring 46 × 61 centimetres and made with “other materials,” a broad category used in the listing. Its advertised price is €240. The announcement does not provide a year of execution, edition information, a detailed medium description, provenance, or an image-based account of the composition.

Singulart’s artist listing identifies Shepard Fairey as a painter from the United States. The platform’s marketplace presents works across painting, prints, photography, sculpture, drawing and other media, with browsing categories that include Pop Art, street art-related subjects, portraits, political themes and popular culture. Those categories are marketplace filters rather than a curatorial description of Fairey’s practice or of the newly listed work.

The title places Jane Fonda at the centre of the piece, but the available announcement does not explain the relationship between the actor and activist and the image, nor does it state whether Fonda participated in the work’s creation or authorized its use. No statement from Fairey, Fonda or Singulart accompanies the listing.

The email frames the listing as part of a broader release of new works. Takashi Murakami is represented by ‘Rainbow Smiley Flower,’ a 50 × 50-centimetre screen print on paper priced at €6,320, and by ‘Hiroshige’s 100 Famous Views of Edo—Japonisme Reconsidered—Towboats along the Yotsugi-dōri Canal (Kaikai Kiki),’ a 42 × 29-centimetre screen print on paper priced at €11,380. Alex Katz is represented by ‘New Cutouts Accordion Card at Robert Miller Gallery (Hand Signed by Alex Katz), from the Estate of UACC President Cordelia Platt,’ listed at 24 × 88 centimetres and €6,260. These works are separate listings from Fairey’s.

The platform’s sales messaging states that eligible purchases include 30-day free returns, global delivery without extra fees and a certificate of authenticity. The source material does not specify whether those conditions apply to every work or identify the certificate issuer. It also does not give a closing date for the listing or indicate that the work is part of an exhibition or physical event.
