The National Gallery in London has opened the final few days of priority ticket booking for members ahead of the general release of tickets for ‘Renoir and Love’, an exhibition of 40 paintings by Pierre-Auguste Renoir. The exhibition is scheduled to run from 3 October 2026 to 31 January 2027 at the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square.
The announcement, issued to National Gallery subscribers on 22 August, says that members will have access to advance booking before tickets go on general sale the following week. The exhibition is described as a major autumn presentation centred on love “in its many forms,” and as a survey of Renoir at what the gallery calls the peak of his creative brilliance.
Renoir is identified in the announcement as one of Impressionism’s major innovators. No further curatorial detail, list of lenders or full checklist of works is provided in the booking notice. The stated scale of the presentation is 40 paintings.
The email’s image credits identify two Renoir works used in promotional material: ‘Dance at Bougival’ (1883), from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and ‘Dance in the Country’ (1883), from the Musée d’Orsay, Paris. The notice does not state whether these works will be included in the exhibition itself, although both appear in its promotional imagery.
‘Renoir and Love’ is supported by lead philanthropic supporter Kenneth C. Griffin and Griffin Catalyst, alongside the Thompson Family Charitable Trust, David and Molly Lowell Borthwick, Rothschild & Co and other supporters. The National Gallery’s announcement also promotes membership, which it says offers exhibition entry, exclusive events, courses, digital content and discounts, with memberships starting from £45.
The exhibition will be on view at the National Gallery in London from 3 October 2026 through 31 January 2027.
